Heat Pads

Winters in Ukraine are cold, especially for soldiers sitting in trenches and staying outside in positions.... Many units purchased heat pads in small quantities and it is a lot more economical to purchase a larger batch, stockpile it and deliver it in phases.

For this campaign we bought 4,500 heat pads at one time: 1,500 foot warmers, 1,500 hand warmers and 1,500 body warmers, for a total price of €2,900. That translates to €0.65 per heat pad, a bargain.

Procurement

The heat pads were purchased from TakeHot in Ukraine.

Logistics

The heat pads have been delivered to the Odessa region, and stockpiled. The available heat pads have been delivered to many different units.

Funding

The required budget of €2,900 was funded by donors, through the Donor box page.

Alex Bond

Alex Bond, a volunteer in Ukraine, made contact with TakeHot and with his WarMonitorTeam made sure that all the heat pads got to the army brigades.

Petra Blankwaard

I sought help in the Netherlands within my network for logistics and arranged the transportation of the sleeping bags through that channel. Furthermore, I handled the fundraising campaign for financing.
